Vacation Apartments in Ramat Eshkol, Jerusalem

Jerusalem's most popular neighbourhood for English-speaking and frum families, with shuls, Mehadrin shopping and the light rail all within a short walk.

    Staying in Ramat Eshkol

Ramat Eshkol sits on the northern ridge of Jerusalem, a few minutes' walk from Ammunition Hill and its light-rail stop, which puts the city centre and the Old City about fifteen minutes away. It is home to one of the city's largest English-speaking frum communities, and it shows: minyanim at every hour, kosher and Mehadrin shopping and restaurants along Paran Street, playgrounds on every block and neighbours who will tell you where to find a Shabbos meal.

JTown Rentals has rented, managed, renovated and sold apartments in Ramat Eshkol and the neighbouring Givat HaMivtar, Maalot Dafna and Arzei HaBira for 17 years. We know the buildings unit by unit, which ones have a Shabbos elevator, which streets are flat enough for a stroller and which apartments actually work for a family with children over Sukkos or Pesach.

    Who Ramat Eshkol suits

Families visiting for Yom Tov, a simcha or a longer stay who want an established Anglo community around them, a proper kitchen and a shul within a few minutes' walk.

Questions guests ask about Ramat Eshkol

Are there shuls and Shabbos elevators within walking distance?

Yes. Ramat Eshkol has dozens of shuls and minyanim, Ashkenaz, Sefardi and Chassidish, and most of the buildings we manage have a Shabbos elevator. Tell us where you daven and we will match you to the right building.

How far is Ramat Eshkol from the Old City and the Kotel?

About fifteen minutes by light rail from Ammunition Hill, or a forty-minute walk. Geula and Meah Shearim are a short walk south, and the city centre is a few stops on the train.

    Are the apartments kosher?

Some are. Look for the Kosher or Kosher Mehadrin amenity on each listing, or ask us to recommend one. Where a unit is marked Kosher Mehadrin we make sure every guest staying there knows and keeps those guidelines.

Can you help me choose between this neighbourhood and nearby areas?

That is what we do. Tell us who is coming, which shul you daven in and what matters most to you, and we will point you to the right neighbourhood and the right apartment. Email, WhatsApp or call, whichever is easier.
